On October 5th, 2018 Seuil Jeunesse released The Good Son in French translation. It is called Petit Soldat and it is beautiful! We are so proud of it.
Petit Soldat was launched by Seuil Jeunesse with us signing in 2 bookshops. One in Paris at L’Art de la Joie, a fabulous independent librairie in the 15th arrondissement:
And again in Amiens – the heart of the WW1 battlefields – at the grand Librairie Martelle. We were very touched by the reactions of the French public to the book. There were tears and gratitude for the depth of feeling the story and images brought to readers young and old.
The book is proudly displayed in museums – among others, seen here at Les Invalides – the French Army Museum and home of Napoleon’s tomb – where there is a huge collection of military figurines.
About Seuil Jeunesse
For 20 years, Le Seuil has placed creativity at the core of its innovative editorial line, and has dedicated itself to discovering new talent. Le Seuil’s rich and artistically-minded catalogue contains audacious projects that shake-up the codes of conventional children’s literature, both in their shape and content.
However, its impertinence and originality are made accessible to children of all ages, who are still the driving force of the editorial process.
